Lullaby: Sonic Cradle

Lullaby: Sonic Cradle was born from my desire to create gentle, nurturing spaces where people could pause and reconnect with themselves. Using lullabies from around the world, Carnatic vocal improvisation and delicate sound textures, I shaped this Manasamitra project as an immersive cradle of calm. Lullaby is as much about community as it is about sound—each performance adapts to its environment, inviting listeners to slow down, breathe and rest. In a world increasingly shaped by climate anxiety, digital noise and relentless pace, this project offers a moment of sanctuary.

  • Concept: The performance is a unique, semi-improvised experience that blends traditional Indian lullabies, vocal performances, and instruments with a technologically-driven soundscape. The soundscapes often incorporate field recordings like chirping cicadas, rain, or city sounds collected from community workshops around the world.

  • Experience: It's designed to be a restful, tranquil, and meditative experience for family audiences and adults, who are invited to relax on cushions.

  • Visuals: The performance often includes interactive light projections using "lumisonic software" that react visually to the music's dynamics.

Touring: The project has toured various venues and festivals internationally, including the Royal Albert Hall and the WOMAD festival.
